Dr. Ron Burgess, known to family and friends as “Tacho,” is the Former Chairman of the Comanche Nation. Dr. Burgess’ fine pen and ink rendering pays tribute to his ancestor, the last Comanche Chief, Quanah Parker. Chairman Burgess is the father of acclaimed Comanche artists Nocona Parker Burgess of Santa Fe and Quanah Parker Burgess of Cache.

On May 18, 1836, the Nocona Comanches captured nine-year old Cynthia Ann Parker during a raid of her family's compound, Fort Parker. Cynthia Ann later married the Chief, Peta Nocona and gave birth to three children. Their son, Quanah Parker, was welcomed to the world in 1852.
