Discover the fascinating history and breathtaking architecture of the Windsor Ruins. Plan your visit to this iconic landmark and immerse yourself in the beauty of the past.
We stopped on this rainy morning at the Windsor Ruins off of Hwy 552 in Mississippi for a detour off the Natchez Trace Parkway. Windsor was built by Smith Coffee Daniel II (he died a few weeks after completion in 1861). The Mansion burned in a fire in 1890, only 23 of the original 29 Columns still stand today. During the American Civil War, the home was used by both Union and Confederate troops. The Ruins have appeared in a couple of movies.
