1 quart of water—
Ratio= 2 teaspoons of sprite : 2-3 drops of bleach

✅ Sub if no sprite or lemon soda on hand = 1/2 teaspoon sugar + a squirt of lemon juice
✅ Bleach sub = vinegar but honestly I’ve never tried this because of the strong vinegar smell 🙊 competing with my fragrant flowers. If you’re putting 2 tiny drops of bleach, you won’t detect the bleach smell.

Flower Moxie on Instagram: "Lose the grocery store flower vibe by following these few tips!
.
#1. Select like colors, keep the color, palette, simple, or go for monochromatic.
.
#2. Take the time to clean the flowers properly so they look fresh and crisp.
.
I often suggest building in a spiral method and tying it off, so the flowers can be picked up, and re-cut, which will make the arrangement last longer. Use the flower food to keep the bacteria low in the water.
.
Thank you, @kaysflowerschool and @janette_from_kaysflowerschool for the amazing ’tap the shoulder’ tip!.

Submerge your flowers in water. They look gorgeous. What a clever idea! Miss Kopy Kat Roses Submerged In Water Centerpieces, Water Flower Arrangements, Submerged Flowers, Water Centerpieces, Flowers In Water, House Forest, Wet Flowers, Valentine Flowers, Flowers For Valentines Day

Want to do something special with your Valentine flowers? How about submerging them in a vases of water. It is an unusual and eye-catching look that is fun for your home or for a party or wedding reception décor. If you already have vases it is an inexpensive look also. It makes your bouquet of Valentine flowers have a bigger visual impact than just putting them all together in one vase in the traditional way. Here are a couple of bunches of flowers that I used to try out some new ways to…

Briana Bosch on Instagram: "Love lilacs like I do but struggle with getting the longest life out of them in a vase? We have a few tricks for how we process and harvest lilac for the best possible vase life (hint: it does not include crushing the stem, which we found actually makes it harder for them to uptake water as it closes off some capillaries)!

My best tips:
🌸 cut when only just starting to open
🌸cut early in the morning
🌸remove most of the foliage
🌸strip the bark off the bottom several inches and make a slit up the center of the stem
🌸place into hot water and put in a cool dark spot for about 8 hours

Then you can arrange with them! This makes a lovely centerpiece for when your lilacs are blooming! Lilacs might actually be my favorite spring flower (ok, it’s a tight race be Lilac Arrangements Simple, Lilac Floral Arrangements, Lilac Flower Arrangements, Lilac Arrangements, Lilac Centerpieces, Lilac Vase, Vase With Branches, Flower Farming, Lilac Bouquet

Pineapple Sage / Floral Design on Instagram: "No it's not about needing to plunge heads into the water.

That's not the issue.

You need to get the air bubbles out, that are trapped in the stem. The hot water forces the oxygen out almost immediately. Look closely, and you’ll see tiny bubbles popping up. I personally wait till they're back to being perky, and then plunge stems into a bucket of cold water. They’ll be able to drink up perfectly now. Works everytime. Unless they're dead of course.

Yep, you can treat them even more by then dipping the heads into water, but I've never had to worry about that step as this works SO well.

So have you tried it yet?! SAVE and SHARE cause everyone loves a hydrangea and a flower hack!" Flower Crowns, Fruit Garden, Hydrangea Flower Arrangements, Pineapple Sage, Arrangement Ideas, Into The Water, New Year New You, Flower Arranging, Hydrangea Flower
