The 1920s

Flappers who were women in the 1920s that engaged in the city nightlife. They broke all kinds of beauty standards. They showed their ankles and knees. They cut their hair in short man-like bobs and wore makeup. Women like flappers gained a boost of confidence, so they could now enjoy the activities they wanted to participate in. Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel, french fashion designer, popularized the new look not only in France but America as well.

A throwback to all that was beautiful and decadent about the jazz era.

When World War One ended in 1918, people were obviously happy. So happy in fact that their collective euphoria ultimately influenced the fashion of the time. The era came to be defined by the emergence of vintage fashion, and as you can see from these pictures, it still looks awesome over 90 years later.
