When drawing the chest area, think pf the ribs as some kind of egg shape. The side profile of the ribs are tilted slightly and ‘squished’ a little down.

When simplifying the human body into shapes, you can choose to either use rectangular shapes or circular shapes. The rectangular shapes allows you to easily recognize the dimensional area of the body with their exact, sharp edges. The circular shapes makes predicting the flow of the body and its silhouettes with their smooth curvy lines. Choose and draw with whichever is most comfortable and easiest for you!!

The arms turned upwards have a consistent, curved, flow.

from a 3/4 view, when hands are placed on the waist each arms should have a different angle they are bent in.

When the upper body is bent at half, the back is represented by the big curved line from the neck to the pelvis, and the front is the line from the chest and folds at the belly. If the upper body is bent further, the flow will be the same, but the thorax area will seem shorter because of the perspective.

The shape of the muscle from behind the neck, coming down from the nape, connect the head, neck, shoulders, etc.

If you put your hand close to your waist, bend your wrist to make your entire hand or palm touch the silhouette of your waist.
