Firefighter Role Play to put out "Chalk Fires" by spraying them with water using a spray bottle to put out the "Chalk Flames." I used this fun learning activity to help my son recognize more words that start with the letter F...words like Fire, Firefighter, Flames, Fire Truck. He was really engaged during the entire activity and enjoyed spraying the letter F, along with the fire. :)

Fire Safety Activity: We had a fire fighter come talk to the children about fire safety. Then we had some fun with our pretend fire extinguishers ( see my post). The teacher drew a series of buildings taped the picture to the wall, then added pretend fire on the windows. The children squirted real water from our pretend fire extinguishers. One way we may change this is, draw buildings on plastic table cloths and draw fire with washable markers so it disappears.

While there are plenty of times I let the kids dig in and make a mess sometimes I need a fun activity that I can keep contained but lets the little ones play and explore.
