Hope Kathleen Limyansky-Smith on Instagram: "✨Glaze Tests✨
I never see new glazes tested on speckled clay… so I’m doing it for you!
Thanks @speedball_ceramics for letting me test out SO many of your new cone 5-6 glazes! They developed 30 new glazes in partnership with Nancy Sowder!
✨ I fired these to cone 6
✨ I use Standard 112 clay
✨ I brushed these glazes on with 3 coats
✨ Follow the link in Speedball’s bio to get your hands on these!
✨There’s A LOT of tests in this one video, so leave a 📸 if you’d like a follow up post with images (so you can stare at them a bit longer)" Glaze, Ceramic Pottery, Speedball Glazes, Ceramics Glazing, 2023 Ideas, Speckle Glaze, Glazes For Pottery, Art Studio, Hands On

Joe Thompson on Instagram: "Glazes undergo a similar transformation to clay when partially fired. In clay this is typically called bisquing and in glazes it's called sintering, and it's a permanent change from their raw state to a solid but not fully melted state. This allows us to fuse chunks of glaze into solid pieces without melting into a puddle. The temperature this happens at will be different for each glaze, so it's generally preferable to use a recipe that works in your bisque than to run a separate firing just to sinter the glaze. I have a couple of recipes on my Glazy profile for speckle recipes that sinter at cone 04-06 and fire to cone 6-10. #pottery #clay #ceramic #ceramics #handmade #handmadeuk #handmadepottery #glaze #cone6 #wheelthrown #wheelthrowing #potteryvideo #sati Glazes For Pottery Recipes Cone 6, Speckle Glaze, Glazing Techniques, Wheel Throwing, Pottery Videos, Ceramics Handmade, Pottery Clay, Ceramic Techniques, Pottery Glazes
