I have been practicing some level art for a hand-drawn platformer side-scrolling video game. Firstly 2D assets (platforms, trees, rocks, clouds, etc...) are drawn. Then, for each level, assets are bashed, merged, and additionally edited. Sky and other backgrounds are made for the parallax effect. These multiple transparent png-s are added separately as layers for further composition in the game-dev software.
