Robot kaiju

Kaiju corruption on the Shao Drones. It was originally gonna be a more elaborate corruption but they decided to tone it down a bit (probably because of time constraints). I only did the corrupted version since the Drone was designed by Thang Le, Eduardo Peña and Andrew Domachowski. I also had the chance to design the Drone Core Room and it´s corrupted counterpart. The red sphere core element was provided by Legendary so unfortunately I don´t know the artist behind its design. . Production…

Slattern is the largest Kaiju and the only category 5 from the Pacific Rim film. It was quite an interesting project to do since there aren't many references from the original design of the creature like other kaijus so I watched the Slattern scenes several times to have the best references. Also, I used as a reference David Meng's maquette. I tried to recreate the Slattern Kaiju as close as I was able to the anatomy and details from Guy Davis and Francisco Ruiz Velasco's original design.
