We did a mini DIY kitchen makeover in our rental. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do but never had the guts to commit to since this space isn’t our forever home. I can now honestly say that it is so worth it.

The kitchen is our proudest achievement in our rental house- we did it all for about £300! We wanted to update it as it was pretty grim, and we knew we'd be in this house for at least a couple of years as we save to buy a house. Here’s how we did it!

Richard added so much personality and warmth to his rental, it’s kind of astounding. The totally fine but pretty sterile space was full of the standard rental woes; outdated overhead lighting, bland cabinets and a kitchen floor that has seen better days. With a mix of gifts, Craigslist and new purchases, Richard turned the bland apartment into a welcoming and charming home.

No remodeling, no renovation, no repainting, and no replacing. Still, a major transformation.
