Teaching vocabulary in special education is crucial! Teaching monthly vocabulary lessons in special education is a great way to cover important vocabulary. Use new vocabulary words during morning meetings, lunch, and other times throughout the day. Use a word wall in your special education classroom. You can use a functional life skills word wall too. Using file folders to teach vocabulary is another great one. Or having literacy centers and vocabulary games setup are helpful too.
