📍SAVE this recipe

1L full fat milk
1 tsp vanilla paste or beans 
1 cup caster sugar
6-7 large egg yolks
1 egg
7 tbsp cornflour 
50g butter, cut into cubes 
2 sheets butter puff pastry
1 egg yolk for brushing 

👉🏼Day before:

Place milk, vanilla in a large saucepan over medium high heat. Bring to just before boiling. Set aside, lid on, to cool for 10 mins.

Meanwhile, place egg yolks, egg and sugar in a large bowl and whisk to combine. Whisk in  cornflour. Slowly pour in about half the milk in a thin stream while whisking.
