Paratha is an East Indian flatbread, and the name means layered cooked dough. Traditionally, Paratha is made with ghee, a nutty-tasting mixture made by rendering the water and milk solids out of unsalted butter. The layered dough is then cooked on a flat surface known as a Roti Tawa to create a fluffy, nutty, buttery, and chewy flatbread. Yield: 6 - 8 Servings INGREDIENTS Flour - 4 cups + more (sifted)Salt - 1/4 tspBaking Powder - 4 tspBrown Sugar - 1 tbspWater - 2 cupsGhee - 1 cup (room temperature)Ghee - 1/2 cup (melted for tawa) METHOD 1. In a bowl, combine flour, salt, baking powder and sugar. 2. Make a well and add water. 3. Knead into a soft dough (dough might seem a bit sticky but that’s okay). 4. If dough is sticking to your hand and the bowl, simply dust with 1 tbsp of flour at a time. 5. Knead for about 5 minutes.
