Actor Ron Moody, who played Fagin in the hit film version of Oliver!, has died aged 91. The star, who was nominated for the best actor Oscar in 1968 for his performance in the Charles Dickens adaptation, died in hospital.

Mark Lester. Born Mark A Letzer, 11 July 1958. Best known for his role as Oliver Twist in the 1968 musical film Oliver!. Prior to this he had supporting roles in British television such as The Human Jungle and Danger Man. In 1964, at age 6, he was cast in Robert Dhary's film Allez France. Since he could not sing, all the singing in Oliver! was dubbed by Kathe Green, daughter of the film's music arranger.
