Mary Taylor was born in Devonport, Auckland in 1948. She was educated at Auckland University, Teachers College and later, Massey University. She was formerly a teacher and has worked as a professional artist since 1983.

There are two identified species of flax in New Zealand - common flax (harakeke) and mountain flax (wharariki).

Little 'pohuehue', of those hard working little groundcover plants you can use in so many places 🌿The botanical name is Muehlenbeckia axillaris if you’re looking for it at the garden centre.
