On Sunday, when the Roman Catholic Church officially declares Mother Teresa a saint, Pope Francis and an estimated crowd of 1 million pilgrims in St. Peter’s Square will get to gaze at a smiling likeness of the famous nun painted by Charlotte artist Chas Fagan. On Thursday, Fagan was in Washington for the unveiling of his work – the official canonization portrait of Mother Teresa, painted this year in his Myers Park studio.
