The entire process of becoming a butterfly from an egg takes about 30 days. During this period, they feed exclusively on the plant known as “milkweed” (a type of PANC – non-conventional food plant), so they do not pose any risk to your garden and should not be confused with pests.

Unfortunately, monarch butterflies are at risk of extinction. One of the main reasons is the loss of their natural habitat and their only food source, milkweed, which is often seen as a weed and is removed from gardens. Furthermore, the use of pesticides also affects their survival.
