Pouring gold bars at the Anglo Ashanti gold mine in Obuasi, Ghana, June 23, 2006. The bars are poured, 4 at a time, from two different furnaces. After cooling in the molds for about 15 minutes, the bars are turned out on the ground and lifted into a quenching bath for several minutes. The new gold bar is then cleaned, brushed, hammered and weighed. Photo: © Jonathan Ernst/World Bank
