Meat biryani recipe

Easy Chicken Biryani combines tender marinated chicken with caramelized onions and aromatic rice. This simple biryani recipe is loaded with warm spices like cinnamon, cardamom, star anise and herbs like mint and cilantro. It has all the flavor of an authentic Indian dish and is made in about an hour.

Traditionally this recipe would have been made with mutton. Unfortunately, mutton was nowhere to be found here in central California, so I substituted with chicken and lamb. Feel free to include your own personal favorite meat of choice.

Mutton biryani is a dum cooked, aromatic rice dish made with layers of tender mutton (goat meat), fragrant basmati rice, deep fried onions and aromatic indian spices.

Tender juicy lamb meat cooked in spices, caramelised onions and long grain basmati rice. This under an hour one pot lamb biryani is so luscious and flavorful, you won't say NO to it, you bet!
