Is this a dagger which I see before me, The handle toward my hand? Come, let me clutch thee. I have thee not, and yet I see thee still. (Act 2, Scene 1, 33-34) -Macbeth was having a hallucination of a dagger in front of him with the handle towards his hand signifying that it would be him that kills King Duncan and achieves his ambition of becoming King. The prophecy affected to the point that he had hallucinations. Shakespeare’s Macbeth is one of the greatest tragic dramas the world has known. Macbeth himself, a brave warrior, is fatally impelled by supernatural forces, by his proud wife, and by his own burgeoning ambition. As he embarks on his murderous course to gain and retain the crown of Scotland, we see the appalling emotional and psychological effects on both Lady Macbeth and himself. Macbeth Play, Macbeth Book, Macbeth William Shakespeare, Wordsworth Classics, The Tragedy Of Macbeth, Shakespeare Words, Shakespeare Macbeth, University Of Sussex, Lady Macbeth
