Low key photography

Wanted to try some low key work. Shoot through umbrella strobe to the right 1/16th, snooted strobe 1/4 power to the left to light the smoke. Originally planned for the soft light to be the main, but the snooted strobe has also made some specular highlights of the candle and the holder. More by luck than judgement, this has given the whole thing some good depth and contrast.

This photo is a perfect example of side light because half of her face is lit up revealing the direction of light (which is pointing left to cover he right side). The backround is black and the left side of her face is dark, and shaded.
