The beauty of large loose parts; they’re open ended and inspire children to try something new, persevere and to use their imagination.

The Chives A summer garden provides many rich learning experiences. The children watch their seeds bloom into glorious flowers. They sample the rich tastes of tomatoes, onions, cucumbers and celery. Herbs are shared with the school chef. And of course, with meticulous precision, they transfer the images of the wonders they see to paper.

Introducing loose parts on the playground could be a great way to see what kind of structures the children might build, and has great avenues for dramatic play and collaboration.

I love loose parts. and I love lists. It was only a matter of time before I combined everything into a loose parts list! I've been collecting for years and now have a lot of the basics stashed away for play and learning. That being said I am ALWAYS on the lookout for a new treasure to add to my loose parts lists.
