Antique Koolhapur traditional-gold (usually 22k) marriage necklace, Maharastra, India - 'Saaj' - Composed of 11-pairs of amulets, die-stamped with auspicious vaishnavite symbols, and a central medallion (thali) set with a red stone and further adorned with spherical balls jointed by gajre work. Melon beads are strung between the amulets. The necklace is original and complete up to the red thread strung through the tips of the amulets, that they may always hang true. | © Veet Nishedha.
