If iron is a concern for you, then it's important to offer iron-rich foods at meals and snacks, plus a vitamin C-rich food. Vitamin C helps your body absorb iron. Heme iron comes from meat, poultry and fish. It is most easily absorbed by the body. Non-heme iron comes from plant sources. It is not as easily absorbed, but still super important!
