Iberian horse

Lusitano mare. She is a greying bay dun. Dun is extremely rare in Iberian breeds. It is not produced by the standard dun gene. It is a recently discovered gene and is found at a different locus. Of course, this mare will be grey. The study of color genetics in Iberian horses lags behind many other breeds since so many of them, significantly and preferentially, have been bred to end up 'white' anyway.
