Is your back swing at its peak when your 2nd to last shell heel hits the ground? If not, you are losing inches to your vertical. This is one of the fastest way to jump higher! 2. Are you rotating your hips for power or are you solely relying on your arm? If you are only relying on your arm you are hitting less powerful and going to add shoulder issues to your career. Fixing these two things helped this 7th grader (started playing in January) to jump higher and hit harder in 10 minutes! If you are interested in becoming mechanical a better hitter, use the link in the bio to book a lesson today! Too short for volleyball? You might be worried you can't compete with taller players. The fact is, height is as big a deal in volleyball. Yes, there's an advantage being taller for blocking and spiking. But shorter players have an advantage. Even plays at the net. Quicker to the ball. Lower center of gravity. Faster on defense. Quick approach to the ball, faster jump, and quicker arm-swing. Often it's harder to blocker smaller spikers because of the angle of the ball. #volleyball

Tensing up to hit harder can slow you down, so prioritize a fast and dynamic arm motion. Don’t forget, to hit even harder and get more power have hip/shoulder separation aka torque. Hip/shoulder separation can be seen in many overhand sports (baseball, tennis, football, etc.) and enhances hitting power and safety. This technique ensures that the swing primarily originates from the core, leveraging its strength over the shoulder. While some athletes may not prioritize this separation, those aiming for peak hitting potential must train for it. By separating hips and shoulders, power generation shifts from the shoulder to the core, utilizing body weight a Volleyball, Tennis, Shoulder Training, Volleyball Training, The Swing, Sports Baseball, Body Weight, Focus On, Force
