To round out my trip to various castles, palaces, etc, I felt like it would be a crime not to go to Windsor Castle. Windsor Castle is actually where Queen Elizabeth II lives. Buckingham Palace, which is in the very heart of London, right off Trafalgar Square, is her occasional residence, but she usually stays at Windsor. Henry VIII's banqueting hall, covered in original tapestries. When we went, they were celebrating the 500th anniversary of Henry VIII's accession to the throne, and they had reenactments of his wedding to Kateryn Parr. I don't believe the Hall is usually decked out like this. We were lucky! (And if I lived in London, I'd be at this place every weekend, if not more often.) Hampton Court Palace.
