Fishing kits for shoeboxes

Here are directions to assemble homemade fishing kits. They make great donation items, expecially in an Operation Christmas Child shoebox for a Boy (or Girl) 10-14. Great for donating to other organizations as well!

When we use this container the light weight line (6 or 8 lb) is wrapped around the jar 100x to give 60 ft. The heavy weight (14 lb) line also is wrapped around 100 times to give 60 ft of the line. Heavy hooks we used are size 6, light weight smaller hooks are 6 lbs. Experienced fishing friends believe that the most valuable parts of the kit are the hooks and line so we plan to increase the amounts of these.

Pocket Fishing Kit!: This is an easy way to pack everything you need to fish in a tiny, buoyant, easy to carry package! I've used a Tic-Tac container, but you can also use soda bottles, travel sized shampoo bottles, or any kind of small plastic container!
