Figurative artist Leah Kelly works with oils, acrylics and charcoal to merge portraiture and surrealism. An unusual combination of faces and bodies in a representational art style is used to express emotions and experiences common within the female experiences. Women’s suffering, power, and emotions are expressed- translated through original ideas and compositions, or retellings of iconic imagery.

Greek artist Nikos Gyftakis created this wonderful series of swirling self-portraits between 2004-2005. The works are made with oil pastels on canvas and are actually quite large, with a few of the pieces taller than 5′ (1.5m).
