Below is a tutorial on how to shirr with elastic thread. Before we begin, I must mention that this is a compilation of shirring techniques which I have learned from 3 specific resources: Portabellopixie, Craftstylish, and Heather Ross's book Weekend Sewing. A little note that I ran out of time to get into more detail about is, the elastic, I cut several strips of elastic to insert into the channels, and you can make these whatever length nessisary for your sewing project, the shorter = more scrunchy, the longer = less scrunchy.
