Delhi durbar

On this day 110 years ago, King George V and Queen Mary of the United Kingdom made one of the most fascinating appearances of their reign, attending the Delhi Dubar celebrating their coronation in India.

December 1911 - King George V and Queen Mary at the Delhi Durbar, it was only ever held three times, in 1877, 1903, and 1911 at the apex of the British Empire. The 1911 Durbar was the only one that a British sovereign attended. The term was derived from the Mughal term durbar.
