In March of this year Dave Trampier passed away. He is best noted to D&D players as the person responsible for the awesome cover of the 1st edition Players Handbook cover art. This cover is incredibly evocative and inspiring. The activities and scene capture the sense of mystery, excitement, and exploration the game is designed around. @WhittersRichard “Saving the Best for Last” is my favorite Daniel R. Horne piece. 👍 Another favorite artist whose work I discovered on the cover of Dragon magazine was Denis Beauvais. I love his “Bridge of Sorrows” painting (it was also made into a great Ral Partha miniature box set).

Moving on down from the glowing portal in Room #19 there is another door to the right of the party. Jason Glover - Free Art Assets This room is empty save for the bodies of what are believed to be other adventurers. Their weapons are gone but a care search will find a Potion of Heroism and a Potion of Healing (1d6+1). (Finding these is worth 50 xp to the party). Likewise, their valuables such as coins are gone.
