Spiral stone staircase inside St. Stephen's Cathedral in Vienna, Austria. The current Romanesque and Gothic form of the cathedral, seen today in the Stephansplatz, was largely initiated by Duke Rudolf IV (1339–1365) and stands on the ruins of two earlier churches. It was built between 1137-1160.

There was a reason i wanted a nice wide angle lens. In my mind all i could think about was visiting the Chapter house in Bristol Cathedral, a brilliant space that i had not been able to do propper justice to previously. Sod's law it was closed off the very day i took ownership of teh new lens. There was some compensation though - being able to capture the serene light flooding into teh Victorian Nave.
