Tocayo is a Presa Canario, a breed that originates from the Canary Islands. Ancestry is thought to include the extinct Bardino Majero, crossed with the English Mastiff. When we met Tocayo, he was very gentle, even with his imposing size. Still, other handlers gave Tocayo a wide berth and the judges did not touch him. Another breed of dog not for the average pet owner.
