I just made this very cheerful baby quilt entirely out of random 2½” strips I had laying around… this is my Honeycomb Hexagon pattern. I thought this would make a good video to show you how these blocks are made with the ruler you (probably) have! Here are a couple of behind the scenes pics, as I was doing the quilting, and then the bias cut striped binding (my favorite). This pattern is so much fun to make, and it came out so much better than I expected after just grabbing a little of this…

- grab yourself a small clear ruler and a Frixion heat erase pen and some sharp scissors.
- I used a base of warm and bright quilt batting (but insulbright would also be amazing) cut to about 13” x 13”.
- I used a 3” hexagon template (It’s in my Amazon storefront in my linktree)
- go as scrappy as you want. I love to fussy cut so I used a bee for my center and then cut 2” strips of fabric that coordinated. See below for fabrics I used.
- mark 1/4” from each end as you sew on the strips, with the frixio Hexagon Template, Hexie Quilts Patterns, Clear Ruler, Hexagon Quilt Pattern, Fat Quarter Quilt Pattern, Sharp Scissors, Quilted Coasters, Bright Quilts, Hexie Quilt

A couple of weeks ago, I started a little scrap quilt using 2½” squares and leftover binding ends that I couldn’t seem to throw out. I showed my process for partial seams in making those super simple but interesting blocks in that week's blog post, Partial to Scraps!I made a total of sixteen blocks that ended up 6½” square. Now, to figure out a layout 🙂I decided on four rows of four blocks to make a square quilt. I thought it would be more interesting to put the blocks on point.… and that…

Rainbow Charms is finished! Measures 49" by 63" I bought the backing last year at Hancock's of Paducah when I was in town for the Fall Paducah AQS show. At the time, I didn't have a particular project in mind but I knew it would make a great backing - and it has. The stripe I used for the binding has been aging in my stash for quite a while - again, I knew it would be a good binding and I'm happy it has finally found its quilt. Quilted with Glide thread in Graphite (top and bobbin) using…

I love the bright fabric in this twin size (64 X 87) quilt. It can go on a bed or be used as a large lap quilt or throw. I quilted it with a light blue thread in a daisy pattern. The batting is Warm & Natural and I used Glide thread to quilt it. It is machine binded for durability. I can personalize it if desired. I can also add a hanging sleeve if you would like to hang this as wall art.
