This delicious treat is basically a deep-fried thick vanilla cake batter that's then dunked in sugar syrup and sprinkled with a light snowfall of desiccated coconut. Traditionally served during Ramadan, but they can be made throughout the year for a lovely Sunday afternoon treat.

These are super light and aerated and easily one of the best donuts I’ve ever made. I hope you enjoy the recipe!  •Recipe •6 tbsp. Caster sugar  •2 eggs  •5 tbsp. Melted butter  •1 tbsp. Vanilla essence plus 1/2 tsp. Almond essence  •2 3/4 cups cake flour  •2.5 tsp.  Baking powder  •300ml buttermilk •Whisk the eggs and sugar until thick and foamy and light in colour. Add in the butter and essences and whisk again. Then add in dry ingredients and mix with a spatula. Lastly, add the buttermilk and let the batter rest for 45min.
