A few reasons this is difficult for couples:
•You feel more ‘wronged’ than them.
•You didn’t grow up really seeing apologies or being expected to apologize so it’s uncomfortable.
•You feel misperceived and that they want you to apologize for something you don’t think you should have to.
•You feel you’re the one to always initiate repair and you’re tired of doing it.
•You wouldn’t have done what you did if they didn’t do what they did.
•And lastly… some really struggle with apologies because they either have lower self-esteem so acknowledging they did something ‘wrong’ is difficult

Aaron and I developed the ability to both initiate repair equally. It’s not a perfect 50/50 but we don’t expect it to be on just one of us. The b Self Esteem, Low Self Esteem, 50 50, Want You, Something To Do, Growing Up, It Hurts, How Are You Feeling, Repair
