Block-forming the semipronated arm of Michelangelo David. One of our most beloved explanations for creating an arm - with the "chain-method". If you think about it for the purpose of creating an arm, then it's created as a chain. This simple explanation makes it a lot easier to view an arm from a different perspective, and understandable. Quick male arm sculpts I made in Zbrush just to practice anatomy. I tried to dedicate less than an hour to each sculpt just to quickly add the basic forms and muscles of the arm. Then I exported them into Marmoset and made a couple of renders. Hope you like them! :)

The pictures show supination, semipronation, and forced pronation of the arm. During the latter, the elbow rotates outwards, indicating movement in the shoulder, where the deltoid muscle gets worked. Marked with the dots are the deltoid tuberosity, olecranon, and distal head of the ulna – the bony landmarks that help you follow the muscle attachments as the arm gets pronated. www.anatomy4sculptors.com

When thinking about the muscles of the upper arm, the biceps and triceps are the first ones that come to mind. It is equally important to remember the brachialis muscle, which is located right underneath the biceps, thus creating the base for the flexors of the upper arm. www.anatomy4sculptors.com
