Part of a series of extraordinary anatomical illustrations from Myologie complete en couleur et grandeur naturelle (1746) with texts by French physician and anatomist Guichard Joseph Duverney. The scenes were based on cadavers dissected by Duverney and made using coloured mezzotint, a method invented in 1719 by Gautier D’Agoty’s master, Jaques Christophe Le Blon.
