Who are the Amhara? The Amhara are one of the two major ethnolinguistic peoples of Ethiopia (together with the Oromo). They are an agriculturalist people who inhabit the central highlands of Ethiopia and have historically been the dominant people in Ethiopian aristocracy and religion.
