Self-drive is a great way to see Turkey. Here's my itinerary for a 7-day Turkey Road Trip on the Aegean coast from Izmir to Istanbul.

A hidden gem, Datca boasts an impressive 50 miles of beaches in the Datça town centre, lush groves of olives and pine trees. It’s one of the most idyllic locations in Turkey. Set in the southwestern part of Turkey, this stunning port town has successfully avoided crowds of tourists. In this way, the Aegean port offers an authentic Turkey visit to any travelers who stumble upon its beauty.

The Turkish Aegean Coast covers the entire western side of the country. Many say it isn’t as scenic as the Mediterranean coast on the southern side, yet every year thousands of holidaymakers fly into Bodrum and Izmir airports for Turkish sun, sea, and sand.
