Imitation kintsugi style with Romans 8:28 Bible verse on Pfaltzgraff Winterberry® plate

A few days after throwing in the trash a broken plate I’d inherited, I heard a sermon at church which spoke of Japanese kintsugi, an art of restoring ceramic pottery to make it beautiful and purposeful. … I dug deep, pulled the pieces up out of the sticky peanut butter/banana mess and washed the dirty garbage from it. Putting it together, I think the cracked image resembles the cross on Mount Calvary where Jesus was crucified to take away the sin of the world. I used Krazy® Glue and a metallic gold Sharpie® to imitate the kintsugi style. Using an oil-based green to hand-letter, I chose a Bible verse reminder, “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28
