Girl Uprooted | Allison Kuslikis on Instagram: "Mind Blowing Fact: Jane Goodall had no training or education prior to her first trip to Tanzania.

She was sent by Dr. Leakey who believed that an unscientific eye was better for observing the chimps.

Jane would later get her PHD first then her Bachelors of Arts in Natural Sciences.

She was openly criticized for naming the chimps instead of numbering them and for attributing human like character traits to the chimps.

Humanity | Kindness | Compassion on Instagram: "Tara the elephant and Bella the dog became inseparable friends on an elephant preserve south of Nashville. For the past eight years, while other elephants gravitated to each other for company, it is Tara who longed to be only near her best friend — Bella the dog.

Bella was a stray dog that wandered onto the property one day. Bella, like many of the other stray dogs, lived among the elephants. Most of these dogs and elephants wanted nothing to do with the other, except Tara and Bella. These two did everything together and became best friends 🥰" Animal Interactions, Spinal Injury, Big Thing, Best Friendship, An Elephant, Random Acts Of Kindness, Adorable Animals, Do Everything, Stray Dogs

a gorilla with the caption that reads, this may be koko the gorilla's last words to humanity
Humanity | Kindness | Compassion on Instagram: "What she says will leave you speechless.. 🥺 She challenged the way we look at animals and gave us some incredibly adorable and heartbreaking moments. Most notable of course, was the fame she achieved for becoming the first gorilla to become fluent in American Sign Language One of the strongest messages that Koko delivered in recent years was one for the leaders of the 2015 Her 'words' are fairly profound. She begins by saying: "I am gorilla. I am flowers, animals. I am nature." "Man Koko love. Earth Koko love. Nature see you" "Koko sorry. Koko cry. Time hurry. Fix Earth! Help Earth! Hurry." Koko the “talking” gorilla was also known to have griefed and “discussed” the passing of her pet kitten, struck by a car, for several days after ge

Lou “worked” at the zoo with her rescuer Xi-Ling, an animals advocate who had found her abandoned as a puppy. Three tiger cubs were rejected by their mother, so Lou accepted the role right away. Nurtured and raised them. Taught them proper manners.. They were separated when it was time for the growing cubs to join the rest of the big cats. After more than 2 years of not seeing each other the area was hit by a heavy storm. Chaos in the zoo and a scared Lou had somehow jumped into the big cat enclosure. There she was faced with six angry tigers who maybe saw her as food or a threat. Before they had reached Lou three o

Alexa Mullane • Nutritional Therapist on Instagram: "I read that the reason we find birdsong so relaxing is because our nervous systems have been hard-wired over thousands of years to connect birdsong with safety. Birds won’t sing when there are predators around, so if there is birdsong in the air it means there is no imminent danger nearby. This connection to safety makes us feel relaxed and at peace. It is also thought that the specific frequencies of birdsong are calming for the brain – research conducted in 2022 found that the sound of birdsong can improve mood by reducing anxiety and depressive symptoms*. How lovely is that!
