Wine Reviews
This wine is as gorgeous as this day! Took a chance on a 2001 vintage... and oh my. I found a treasure! Made in the style of Châteauneuf-du-Pape, this blend still has plenty of acid, earth, and spice, aged into a refined palette. Sometimes age is a good thing. AND proof that twist tops are capable of keeping wine beautiful. Well done Bonny Doon Vineyard, well done! 💜 Repost: Poetry Wines #bonnydoonvineyard
2016 Bonny Doon Vineyard Vin Gris de Cigare
Today on the Nittany Epicurean: Rosé season is in full bloom across the world right now. In the past few years, we've seen this dry style of this wine, long since popular in France, explode in popularity across the United States. To celebrate this season, we'll begin by enjoying a classic Vin Gris from one of my favorite American winemakers: 2016 Vin Gris de Cigare from Bonny Doon Vineyard.

Get Doon With Rosé: "The light pink color is very Provençal, and the nose falls into line with it. Aromas of strawberry and watermelon are in the forefront, with plenty of herbal influence. On the palate, it drinks more red than pink, with cherry, currant and licorice on display. The acidity is plainly perfect, and a nutty savoriness just peeks through and lingers on the finish." - Now and Zin on our 2016 Vin Gris de Cigare #bonnydoonvineyard
