The Welcome Statue characters- these are Constructionist style statues depicting Indonesian Youth welcoming anyone from any nation- which were built when Jakarta was basically a large town with few buildings taller than a Mosque tower or cathedral spire. Deutsche Bank and Daimler-Benz building to the Left, in front is Grand Hyatt and Plaza Indonesia. This picture must have been taken somewhere near the Mandarin Oriental. PLAZA INDONESIA
Another view of Cafe Moda. Yes- the blue mini-lagoon has koi carp under the floor. The right of screen is the cafe front where the matre d' resides- and also the brasserie-patisserie from Grand Hyatt's 5 star bakery. Very popular with the German Embassy staff (across the road!).
