Entre os maiores responsáveis pela aceleração encontram-se as tecnologias, grande parte delas tecnologias da inteligência, quese multiplicam e avançam exponencialmente em conectividades complexas. Um bom exemplo disso encontra-se no Blockchain. Até 2018, esse nome se limitava a abrigar um pequeno universo de criptomoedas sob o nome de Bitcoin. Hoje, os especialistas estão seguros de que a tarefa das criptomoedas foi a de abrir as portas para o crescimento do restante da indústria voltada para uma nova forma de internet. Isso não significa que ambos, internet e Blockchain, sejam sinônimos. Portanto, o Blockchain não parece ter vindo para colocar um fim nas festanças das redes sociais, entre outras. Por enquanto, tudo parece indicar que o blockchain irá empoderar a Web 3.0, ou seja a inteligência conectiva, com o trunfo da introdução de conexões confiáveis. A par dediscorrer sobre o tema de forma didática, este livro coloca em discussão a multiplicidade de facetas do Blockchain na sua expansão pelos mais diferentes setores e atividades da vida social.

As redes sociais desempenham papel central e crescente na vida das pessoas, tornando-nos pessoas permanentemente conectadas. Os brasileiros ocupam local de destaque no uso das redes: somos o segundo país do mundo em tempo nessas plataformas. Isso abriu uma nova maneira de comunicação para profissionais e empresas, a partir da publicação de conteúdo nas redes sociais. Hoje é inimaginável pensar em iniciar um programa de marketing sem isso. Entretanto, o que se observa é que a grande maioria das empresas e dos profissionais não colhem todos os resultados que poderiam dessa iniciativa, por falta de compreensão do que são bons conteúdos e bons relacionamentos. Na prática, fazem muito “barulho” nas redes, mas constroem pouca reputação. Nesse cenário, o LinkedIn se destaca como uma rede social onde os usuários buscam informações e contatos que lhes permitam crescimento pessoal e profissional. Para reforçar esse propósito, desde 2016, a plataforma publica uma lista de usuários batizada de Top Voices, justamente aqueles que, seguindo o próprio LinkedIn, produzem conteúdo de alta qualidade e constroem relacionamentos eficientes. O autor deste estudo é um deles. Motivado por sua experiência pessoal, o presente estudo se propõe a identificar boas práticas nessa tarefa de relacionamento a partir de publicações. Foi realizado um extenso trabalho de campo, com análise de 966 publicações de 60 usuários relevantes e entrevistas com essas pessoas e editores do próprio LinkedIn. Dessa forma, responde como as redes sociais digitais podem permitir que pessoas criem uma reputação a partir da produção de conteúdo e relacionamento, se é possível transpor a reputação construída na rede para além dela e quais são os mecanismos mais eficientes. Apesar de o estudo não propor ser um “manual de como publicar nas redes”, oferece recursos para quem desejar produzir discussões de alto nível no meio online.

A maioria das pessoas não se dá conta de que muitas atividades que realizamos cotidianamente, como uma busca no Google ou uma compra na Amazon, dependem de algoritmos de Inteligência Artificial (IA). Esta se define como uma área da ciência computacional que leva as máquinas a executarem tarefas similares àquelas desempenhadas pela inteligência humana, tais como percepção visual, tomada de decisão, tradução, reconhecimento de voz etc. De fato, os recursos próprios da IA espraiam-se hoje por uma diversidade de atividades humanas. Os assistentes pessoais inteligentes organizam rotinas, os “automatizadores” de documentos auxiliam em uma variedade de tarefas, softwares analisam comportamentos online, algoritmos são capazes de prever o sucesso de narrativas audiovisuais, softwares avançados voltam-se para o reconhecimento perceptivo, a aprendizagem profunda (deep learning) é capaz de realizar diagnóstico médico e a aprendizagem de máquina (machine learning) pode auxiliar nos tratamentos de saúde; há ainda software para sistemas aéreos autônomos, robôs com cara de gente, que conversam com simpatia. E os avanços não param aí. Nesse contexto, este livro está dedicado ao exame do papel que a IA vem desempenhando, de modo invisível, mas incisivo, nas redes sociais. Os capítulos procuram estudar o tema sob uma diversidade de facetas, todas elas de grande relevância, pois compreender os efeitos que a IA está produzindo na sociedade está se tornando preocupação crucial para todos que se interessam pelos destinos da vida humana daqui para o futuro.

I led the launch of the first online shop in shop from Samsung in the world, in conjunction with Samsung Korea and Máquina de Vendas (all four sites). The site brings a great amount of information about Samsung products and tools that help e-costumer to chose among products available on retailer site at that specific moment, improving the sales conversion. I managed all deals with retailer (marketing, sales and IT resources), and acted as project manager and localization manager with Samsung…

Appex products for Brazilian Windows 8
I was hired for the job of creating Brazilian version of editorial applications that would be introduced with Windows 8 launch, know as Appex project. I worked with MSN Brasil team on editorial definitions, localization of of the apps, adjustments in content partners and fine tuning Bedrock CMS. At the end, the project produced the apps of News, Sports, Finance and Travel.

It included reports and articles from the event in all major cities in the country. Besides text, the project included contents in áudio and video. There were available also information for all candidates for mayors and cities councilmen. The project also created tools that automatically measured the "mood" about each major candidate in the Internet, based on semantical analysis, and the most popular topics on Facebook and Twitter. Users could also check all vote intention polls.

Estadão para Chrome
As product manager, I led the devolpment of the app from Estadão to run under Chrome browser and Chrome OS. Estadão created all the definitions of the product, layout and generated the files that feed the system, which runs automatically, reflecting Estadão home pages and channels, including pictures and vídeos.

Divirta-se was a huge project from Estadão, that resulted in a website and apps for iPhone and Android smartphones. It combined editorial content from culture, leisure and gastronomy events and places at São Paulo with na advanced search tool that allow users to find the best to do in the city. The work involved not only the localization of an international system, but also the creation of original didactic content, taking advantage of all of its features and capabilities.

By the year 2000, I consolidated myself as the main voice of AOL Mail in Brasil, and kept that position until 2005. I was responsible to guarantee that the product, which was basically the same for all countries where AOL had presence, included Brazilian users and AOL Brazil needs, dealing with the international product team. I was also responsible for marketing campaigns to demonstrate how AOL Mail was the most powerful commercial mail service available in that pre-Gmail era.

AIM - AOL Instant Messenger
AIM is America Online's messenger. I had led the development of eight versions from 1999 to 2015. The product reached about 5 million users in Brazil, one in four BR Internet users in the time. I managed to include in Brazilian versions local content in tickers and panels, like Bovespa stock exchange data, integration with Itaú Bankline services and several editorial contents.

I have created the first online version of Folha de S.Paulo thanks to my understanding of the editorial organization of the printed newspaper, its proprietary publishing system and HTML. Combining all of those, I conceived a site that included all the texts and some images of the edition of the day. It was aired everyday late at night, when the last edition was already being printed.

Últimas Notícias was an interesting and fast way to include a huge amount of news to Universo Online, which was about to be launched in the coming months. It basically captured and published content from Agência Folha news service as a channel of UOL. That strategy made sense, because Web portals needed to provide a lot of content to attract customers, and there were no partners for that task yet, so they had to work on that by their own means.

The creation of a common toolbar topping all UOL webpages was the solution for the need of having the most important sections of the service always displayed to the users. Originally the idea was to create a proprietary browser like AOL's, which was the benchmark, but there were no time or resources for that. The Web solution was very clever, because all the toolbars were centralized in one specific directory in the server, being invoked and included every time any UOL page was displayed to user. Therefore, if any change were needed in the toolbar, it was only necessary to update the content of that directory: no content file was touched. In the years to come, this idea was spread as a "default" of the Web.

In order to make possible to publish huge amount of reports and articles from Folha de S.Paulo, Folha da Tarde and Notícias Populares into their online versions everyday, it was necessary to create a system that automatically grab all those content from internal network of the newspapers, organize them based on editorial hierarchy and automatically convert to Web format. WebAssist was the solution for that.

As a result of its independence and the high quality of its content and design, it became one of the most respected local publication of the city.
