LAPIMA wins the Now Awards in the New Emerging Brand/Designer category From Campinas – São Paulo, LAPIMA is the only Brazilian brand to bring a prize home. SÃO PAULO - Under the creative direction of Gustavo Assis and handcrafted production in its own studio located in Campinas, LAPIMA emerges as the grand winner of the Now Awards, an award presented by Vision Expo East, the most important optical fair in the United States. Established in 2016, the brand won the award in the New Emerging Brand/Designer category, a recognition from the industry to the original and innovative design crafted by a diverse team of designers, engineers, architects, and craftsmen working in harmony. Among its many distinctive features, LAPIMA stands out for its three-dimensional frames, created using 3D printers and hand-sculpted in organic acetate, as well as its avant-garde designs complemented by the exclusive hues throughout its journey. This year's edition of Vision Expo East was themed into five categories, covering the following concepts: NYC Nostalgia, featuring vintage-inspired frames in celebration of Vision Expo's 40th anniversary; NYC Fashion, highlighting high-fashion designs; Peach Fuzz, showcasing designs in the 2024 Pantone color; Earth, dedicated to innovation; and Love, glasses whose design captivated the organizers. To take part in the award, each brand submitted a pair of glasses and/or collection that best represented one of these themes. The final products were chosen by an advisory committee of industry leaders and the participating public, who were invited to vote for their favorite frames via a QR code. Present in more than 30 countries, LAPIMA's mission is to bring the Brazilian perspective, our modernist architecture, and hues drawn from our diverse biomes to the global luxury eyewear segment, independently. Among the brand's recent inspirations are the Brazilian Midwest, with its typical Cerrado landscape, the Serra do Mar mountain range, and the Saco do Mamanguá in Paraty, Rio de Janeiro.
