The growing consumer concern for society and the #environment reflects a paradigmatic shift in market expectations. Modern consumers not only seek quality products but also evaluate the ethical and environmental impact of the companies they choose to support. In the #furnituresector, this awareness has reached a high level, driven by the understanding that furniture production can directly influence ecosystems, communities, and consequently, global quality of life. Based on these premises, the furniture industry has been advancing in its #ESG practices. Proof of this is seen in Ceará companies from the Marco hub, such as Ruah Indústria and JACAUNA MÓVEIS, which have been striving towards recognition for their #sustainable practices. To obtain ESG certification from Sistema FIEC, Jacaúna Group aims to complete the process within the next six months, a process that began this year. The company intends to meet the 72 indicators stipulated in the ESG-FIEC Program to then be audited and, if approved, receive certification from Bureau Veritas, an international certification organization. The Ceará Events Center in Fortaleza hosted Expomóvel Ceará in September 2023, one of the major events on the furniture industry calendar. The main objective of Expomóveis Ceará 2023 was to promote and foster the state’s #furnitureindustry by creating a conducive environment for #business, networking, and knowledge exchange among local and other Brazilian furniture manufacturers. The fair focused on showcasing new products, trends, and innovations in the sector, as well as providing opportunities for partnerships and market expansion. Jacauna Móveis is a renowned company from Ceará in the Brazilian #furniture sector. Forecasts for 2024 indicate growth in this sector. A 2% increase in retail and a 1.8% increase in production are expected. In terms of turnover, the projections point to growth of 6.1% in retail and 5.7% in manufacturing. In addition, the Ceará Institute for Research and Economic Strategy (#IPECE) projects that the state's GDP will grow above the national average in 2024, driven by various sectors, one of which is the #furniture industry.
