Overview
The one day seminar, which runs at DCTS, provides a series of awareness briefings which facilitate an overview of key structures and stakeholders in Defence training and an introduction to key Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) functional areas of training, namely analysis, design, delivery, evaluation, audit and inspection.
Suitable For
The seminar is aimed at Commanding Officers of Phase 1, 2 and 3 Training Establishments and staff officers from single Service and Defence Training Organisations at OF5 and OF4.

This seminar provides a series of awareness briefings which facilitate an overview of key structures and stakeholders in Defence training as well as an update on key initiatives likely to impact upon the training environment. In addition, the course provides an introduction to key Defence Systems Approach to Training (DSAT) functional areas of training, namely analysis, design, delivery, evaluation, audit and inspection.

Course Components
Prior to attending the Seminar, candidates must complete the following readings and learning activities, which cover DSAT activities/deliverables (estimated time to complete will vary from candidate to candidate depending upon individual levels of experience and learning styles, but on average should take ~5 hours):
- JSP 822: Governance and Management of Defence Individual Training, Education and Skills (~ 2 hours)
- Part 3, Chapter 2: The Management of Individual Training and Education
- Part 4: DSAT QS
- DSAT Course Module 1 – DSAT – MOD Systems Approach to Training (hosted on the DLP) (~3 hours)
