Bookouture re-sign contracts with authors Vernal and MacDonald

We are excited to announce that Commissioning Editor Natalie Edwards has re-signed Michelle Vernal for three books in a brand-new historical fiction series to publish in 2025, as well as two of Michelle’s Women’s Fiction backlist titles and a backlist historical fiction series of four books.

Natalie says,

‘I am absolutely thrilled to continue working with Michelle on a host of publishing, taking us into 2026. Michelle is such incredible talent that no matter the genre, she will sweep you away with her beautiful writing and wonderful plots. I cannot wait to get all these books into readers’ hands – I know they will not be able to put them down!’

Bookouture is also thrilled to announce the acquisition of two more novels from bestselling author Dee MacDonald. Publishing Executive Lizzie Brien agreed a World All Languages deal, including audio, with Amanda Preston at LBA Literary Agency for one cosy crime mystery and one women’s fiction novel.

Lizzie says,

‘I couldn’t be happier that we have more books coming from Dee! I’m so excited to launch her new Scottish Highland-set cosy crime series later this year, and know that her readers are going to absolutely love what she has in store for them! I’m also absolutely delighted that we also have more women’s fiction coming from Dee. Her writing is so warm, funny and relatable, and this new novel will be no exception!’
